Ashiatsu –“Ashi” in Japanese means “foot.” “Atsu” means “pressure.” In the US, Ashiatsu has become the known term to describe barefoot massage, however this ancient technique was originally developed in Kerala, India. The Asian styles of barefoot massage, however, were not gliding effleurage, but rather compression-over-clothing. For centuries, throughout the East, various styles of barefoot massage were used to create balance in the Qi (marma points/meridians) of the body and to alleviate everything from headache to heartache.

Many versions of Ashiatsu developed over the years, and unique from it’s origins, gliding effleurage is what is most famous in the United States today. Steady, gliding, compression with the use of the feet, provides a luxurious feel that is not only deeper, but more soothing and comfortable than traditional massage. Feet vs. hands stimulate the clients’ parasympathetic nervous system, allowing them to dive deeper into relaxation.

Connective Tissue and Anatomy Trains – leads to practical new holistic strategies to improve stability and coordination and to resolve long-standing compensations in postural and movement patterns.

Developed by author and bodyworker Thomas Myers in the 1990’s, Anatomy Trains gives you a new understanding of whole-body patterning in posture and function. This technique is deep structural work, done with the specific focus on relaxing and releasing chronic patterns of tension in the Fascia and Muscle, helping to create profound changes in mind/body.

Massage Cupping –
Cupping is a traditional time honored treatment, dating back over 5000 years, and favored by millions of people worldwide.

It is a safe, comfortable and remarkably effective treatment for a wide range of chronic and acute issues.  With the use of suction, instead of compression, cupping rapidly facilitates soft tissue release, lifts and loosens connective tissue, breaks up and drains stagnation and increases blood and lymph flow.  Cupping Massage can enhance the effects of any other manual therapy and may include injury/pain release, abdominal massage, cellulite treatments, bio magnetic field therapy and lymphatic drainage.  This treatment can be done as an add on to any other massage treatment.

Facial Cupping –
Women in Asia, Europe and Russia have been using these remarkable negative pressure techniques for generations.

With the use of small cups, this deeply relaxing and nourishing treatment lifts the facial tissue, increases lymphatic drainage, increases circulation and nutrients, reduces puffiness, lines and wrinkles and it can also help to relieve sinus infection and inflammation.
